Strawberry Milkshake

>> Friday, July 20, 2012

Thank God It's Friday.. Time to relax, shopping, watching movies..... Ah! so much pending stuffs. Right now I am writing this post taking sip of delicious strawberry milkshake. Well, it's so hot here. I was about to grab soda when I saw these cute looking strawberries. Tadaaa.. here we have healthy, creamy, pale-pink strawberry milkshake.

Sometimes, I do use frozen strawberries. But, this one is made with fresh strawberries. You know what guys, I never liked strawberries. But, then I started having Yoplait (strawberry flavored) and now I am actually loving it.. Also, my doctor said "Honey, you got to have strawberries, they are rich in protein.." I love home-made milkshakes, mind it, I don't want them to be loaded with ice-cream.

So now, let's move on to this simple yet delicious recipe of strawberry milkshake!!

Ingredients:

5-6 strawberries
1 cup milk
1.5 tbsp sugar
2 icecubes
1 strawberry - to garnish

Method:

Blend all the ingredients (except the one for garnishing) until smooth. Adjust sugar, if required.

Serve chilled. Garnish with strawberry slice.

Ready to slurp!!!

Note: The thick consistency depends on how many strawberries are used for preparing this milkshake.

Good Morning with Lemon Tea

>> Monday, October 18, 2010

It feels great when you start your day holding a cup of hot lemon tea and taking a bite my favo "Marie biscuits" or muffins (occasionally). Mostly I love to have "Marie biscuits" along with my morning tea.
Sip of lemon tea, every morning, is so refreshing. This itself makes my day. I have this religiously on a daily basis. Few months back, I felt milk wasn't so great for me and I need something that must make me feel light and catchy. And then I found my taste in "Lemon Tea". Few drops of lemon into tea and you can see the drastic change in color and makes it taste better than before.

Trust me guys! when you need something to boost your mood or need a little comfort, Lemon tea is a best pick me up. It is perfect for easing your morning sickness.

So get going, drink up and know your body thanking you for it!

Ingredients: makes kettle full

A kettle full of water
3 bags of strong, black tea
1 tsp lemon juice

Method:

Put the kettle on fire and let the water boil. When water boils, put the tea bags into it. Dip for 5-6 mins or according to the required strong flavor. Remove the bags and add lemon juice into it. Pour into tea cups and serve hot.

Voila!

Mango Lassi

>> Wednesday, September 8, 2010

When it comes to summer, there is no fun without mangoes. In my hometown, we have a big mango tree in our backyard. In my childhood, me and my friends, we will climb that tree and pluck all mangoes, no matter whether they are raw or ripe. I just love those memories.. I must admit that I'm a good tree climber... :)

I bought a box of my sweetie mangoes from a Mexican grocery store. Lemme tell you guys my mom prepares excellent mango lassi. That's just perfect!! And what's unique is the hint of ginger in it.. This gives lassi a spicy flavor... Yes, ginger aids in digestion of mangoes.. but i like the gingery twist in my sweet mango lassi...

After this riotous combination of mangoes and yougurt, I'm going to get into other fruity combinations... I believe every fruit blended with yogurt, is just awesome!!

And when it comes to Alphonso mangoes, rich, pulpy and smooth as butter... they are bursting with flavor. Blend them with yogurt, little sugar and oh my!! you are with your perfect summer drink!!!

Ingredients:

2 large Alphonso mango, cut into small cubes
1 cup yogurt
3 tbsp Sugar or as per taste
1/2 cup Milk, if required
1 tsp ground ginger
2-3 ice cubes

Method:

If you don't have fresh mangoes, substitute with 1 cup canned mangoes and if using sweetened mango pulp, reduce the amount of sugar.
Combine all the ingredients, except milk, in the blender. Blend well. Adjust the ingredients as per the taste.
Pour the milk, little by little, until you reach the desired consistency.
Serve garnished with nuts or mango slices.
